Sailor Mercury: the logical one. She relies on analyzation and logic during her daily life and in her attacks. In fact, she is the only inner Senshi other than Sailor Moon to have a magical item attributed to her, and we all know these items as her mini computer and her visor goggles. These help her to identify and study things in very little time. In many cases, these have helped to defeat the youma du jour (monster of the day) by finding some weakness of it. Mercury, known as Ami Mizuno in the day-to-day world, is extremely intelligent and is reported to have an IQ of 300 (although research has indicated that this is not humanly possible). She is always in the top of her class and is sometimes lonely because of her intelligence. The other Sailor Senshi are always there for her, no matter what she may be going through. She is a very important part of the Sailor Team.
Sailor Mars: the soldier of fire and passion. She is ruled by the planet (and similarly, god) Mars, which brings attributes of argumentativeness, passion, emotions, stubbornness, and fire. She is very deeply connected with the other Senshi and has strong intuition, although it may occasionally be wrong (see Stars ep. 170). In the dub version, quite frankly, she was screwed. As I watch the original, I can see how much Rei really loves and cares about Usagi. She yells at Usagi because she knows her and her potential, and Rei believes that Usagi is not living up to her full potential. In the R movie, Rei is the one to push Usagi out of the grips of the Kisenian flowers, and the first one to go and comfort Usagi when she knows Mamoru was abducted. Sailor Mars is passionate in all aspects of her life, filled with fire energy.
